Welcome back fellow movie nerds! Please join us this week as we discuss two fabulous classics to kick off Pride Month! Andra is covering the indie But I'm a Cheerleader (1999), and Shelley is covering To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar (1995). These two hits are a couple of our favorite LGTBQ+ flicks that have had a significant impact on our culture. Jamie Babbit's "Cheerleader" has gained traction as a cult sleeper hit since its release and portrays genuine Queer relationships as well as a satirical look at conversion therapy culture. Wong Foo was released to a mainstream audience in 95' and has since received both positive and critical reviews as it portrays the cross-country trip of three Drag Queens making their way to a national pageant. These films are excellent and will leave you laughing with a full heart!
